Ephesisans 3:14-21
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
This passage above is Ephesians 3:14:21 New Living Translation. Over the past couple of days I have gone back to this scripture passage, with some knowledge that this was written to the Ephesians, but that right now God intends on me hearing it and for me to receive the truth of His word!
When is the last time you fell to your knees and prayed to God? I was working on the The Psalms of the Ascent several years ago, a Beth Moore Bible study, when I was challenged to go before God face down. I was amazed at what God did in my life. I found a quiet place in my home, took His word, opened the scriptures and laid face down, praying the scriptures back to God. I would be still, and wait for God's leading.
This week I need to be reminded of this stillness, this interaction with God. I need not only to be on my knees, but face down before Him, waiting for His love to flow into my life. For me to trust God fully. I need to be humble and remember, nothing that goes on is about me, but completely about Christ? How about you?
Then in verse 18 of the passage above I was reminded that God's will take up residence in my heart! I know that Christ has been in my heart for many years, but many of those years were just knowing that! John 15:1-17 show us that Christ is the Vine. I am a branch on that vine. In order for me to grow, and truly experience Christ taking ahold of my heart, I need to abide in His love and that means abiding in Him. Trusting Him - completely.
Do you know what it means to have Christ fill your heart so that you trust without question? I struggle with that sometimes. But then, God with His ever loving approach reminds me that He is always here. I don't completely understand His love, but I know that His Love is all that I need. As I begin to trust more and more, I know that the roots of Christ, The Vine, are deep and strong and they will support me and grow me to be a fruitful child. I will still struggle from time to time with trust - but oh how grateful I am that Christ doesn't struggle with loving me and and drawing me back to Him with the assurances of that with Him all things are possible and that with all things I encounter Christ is faithful to walk with me.
Today, I challenge you to lay face down before God. Take the Word of God with you and praise His Holy name, pray His word back to Him, and ask Him to give you the strength and power that only His love can provide.

Abiding or remaining in Him is like having the sap that flows through the vine and out to the branches giving, nourishment, power and strength to grow and live abundantly. Without all that there can be no oneness with Him, no taking on the characteristics of Him, no beauty, grace, goodness and no harmony. There is nothing like intimate union with Him and being swept up into His dance which we were created for.I just finished Ephrsians 3:14-21 a few days ago. How wonderful to know that we have the power to overcome and His strength to carry on. The other day a dear relative said to me, "I just keep praying for God to give me strength and power tq get through all this." I told her, "you are praying the wrong prayer, He has already given you all the power and strength you need. You just have to ask Him to remind you of the promises He has given you and claim them."
