How's Your Confidence?

Ephesians 3:12 "In him we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him."  By our faith we are saved through God's grace. By our faith we have a relationship with the creator of the universe. By our faith in Him, we have boldness. By our faith we have confident access to Him.

WOW!  It has been an eye opener to me this morning. Because of the grace that God has given, and I have accepted through faith, I have been given access to the mysteries of God. I am not going to know all that God does or all that He is, but I have complete access to go to Him, talk with Him, grow in a relationship with Him.

In the Old Testament we read that only the high priest had access to God and that was only once a year. If anybody other than the high priest, entered the temple, the Holy of Holies, they would be struck dead. But God provided for us His son, Jesus Christ, who walked on this earth just as we do. He was tempted here on earth just as we are. We have the High Priest that knows what we are going through daily. Because of our faith in Jesus Christ we can confidently go before the throne of grace, before the One true God. (see Hebrews 4:15-16).

Do you access God daily? Do you boldly go before the throne of God knowing that He will hear you and respond. God's grace has been extended to all. Some accept His gift and some walk away. It is imperative that we walk with the boldness and confidence of God and share with others about God's grace. Talk with someone today about your faith. Better yet, talk with someone today about your access to the One and Only. Be bold. Be confident. God is with you and walking right beside you in all that you do today.

  1. You know Beth, what else gives me confidence and comfort is that Hebrews 7: 24-25 says that Jesus continues as our high priest forever and has an unchangeable priesthood and therefore sits at the right hand of the Father and is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them. In the Arabic translation "uttermost" means to the uttermost perfection. So that nothing can be wanting in the salvation that He is the author of and has perfected. How sweet is that? And what about all the heavenly resources He has given us? All those promises are really possessions for us to just claim!

  2. Today as I read again and ponder this book, I keep coming back to chapter 1 and how the church was chosen before the foundations of this earth to the praise of His glory, His glory being the purpose of our redemption. He chose us to be holy and blameless and poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. I keep coming back to the book of Revelation and the lukewarm church. It makes me sad that so many of us, and I feel like Paul when I say in this case I have been one of the greatest offenders and it breaks my heart when I think of walking around for so long really not understanding all that I was missing and the fact that we are to be the light and salt and too often that is just not the case. We each need to know about this armor, dying to self each day and putting on Jesus. When I think about all there is to be taught to the women of our church I almost get overwhelmed. I think about all He has given us, redemption through His blood, forgiveness of our sins, our inheritance, the seal of the Holy Spirit all because of His grace and love, I want others so badly to see the hugeness of this rather than salvation and His grace as just a ticket into heaven. There is so much more in the abundant life Jesus talks about in John 10:10. May we all share this good news boldly with other women.
